Cricket Veteran and for Indian opener Virender Sehwag is known to have a soft spot for King Kohli and it not unknown in the country or the cricket community. Recently he was seen to have credited Virat Kohli with the potential to beat Tendulkar & Rohit’s Record for Most WC Centuries. This is not the first time Nawab saab has been seen blowing out favorable vibes towards Kohli before a big tournament. And what could be bigger that the World Cup.
Tendulkar set the record for most centuries in the World Cup with a total of six hundreds. Not to mention he has managed to have played in as many editions of the tournament. But then Rohit Sharma set the record straight and matched Sachin with five blistering centuries in the 2019 edition alone.

At the launch of the schedule of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 at the St. Regis hotel in Mumbai, Sehwag said:
“Virat Kohli has the chance to beat Sachin Tendulkar’s (& Rohit Sharma) record for the most hundreds in World Cups in this tournament. Because he doesn’t give his wicket up after getting a good start,”
Sehwag also brought into attention the fact that just like Tendulkar and Dhoni, players will be looking to win and dedicate the Trophy to Kohli as a complement to his legacy.
“We played the 2011 World Cup for Sachin Tendulkar. Virat Kohli is similar to Tendulkar, he’s the one now in Indian cricket. Everybody will be looking to win this World Cup for Virat Kohli. Whenever he plays, he gives more than youngsters”
World Cup 2023:
A total of 10 teams will participate at the showcase event, out of which the first 8 have managed to already qualify through the Cricket World Cup Super League. The final two spots will be decided at the end of the Qualifier series in Zimbabwe, which ends on July 9.
