In an official statement ICC said “Pakistan have signed a participation agreement to compete and we expect them to be there and have had no indications to the contrary, All members have to abide by the rules and the laws of their country, and we respect that. But we’re confident Pakistan will be in India for the Men’s Cricket World Cup,”

Here are some additional details about the political challenges that Pakistan faces in playing the ICC World Cup 2023:

  • The Indian government has refused to give visas to Pakistani cricketers in the past, which has made it difficult for Pakistan to play in India.
  • There have been several terrorist attacks on Pakistani cricket teams, which has led to increased security concerns.
  • The Pakistani government has been reluctant to spend money on security for cricket matches, which has also made it difficult for Pakistan to host international teams.

Despite these challenges, the PCB is hopeful that Pakistan will be able to play in the World Cup. The PCB has been working with the government to improve security for cricket matches, and it has also been trying to build relationships with other cricket boards.
