IND vs PAK World Cup 2011: The 2011 Cricket World Cup semi-final between India and Pakistan was one of the most anticipated matches in the history of the tournament. The two teams had a long and storied rivalry, and this match was seen as a chance for one of them to finally break the other’s World Cup hoodoo.
India won the toss and elected to bat first. They got off to a good start, with Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar putting on a 50-run partnership. However, Pakistan’s bowlers struck back and dismissed both openers in quick succession. Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli then steadied the innings, but they too fell in the middle overs.
With India in trouble at 141-4, it was up to Tendulkar to rescue the innings. The master batsman did not disappoint, scoring 85 runs off 115 balls. But before that there was an LBW call when he was at 23 runs. Saeed Ajmal was the bowler and even the Umpire had given OUT. The DRS indicated that the ball would have missed the leg stump.

Recently on one of Nadir Ali’s podcasts, Ajmal claimed that the last 2 frames of the replay were intentionally omitted to protect Sachin.
He said: “I played in the 2011 World Cup in India. If you could remember the controversial call of Sachin Tendulkar’s wicket. Umpire and I still say he was out. They cut the last two frames to make the ball miss the stumps. Otherwise, it would have directly hit the middle stump,”
Saeed Ajmal is a Pakistani former cricketer who played all forms of the game. He is a right-arm off-spin bowler who bats right handed. At domestic level in Pakistan he represented Faisalabad, with whom he won the 2005 ABN-AMRO Twenty-20 Cup; Khan Research Laboratories; and Islamabad.
Ajmal made his One Day International debut for Pakistan in July 2008 at the age of 30, and a year later played his first Test. In 2009, he was reported for having a suspect bowling action, but after being cleared he helped Pakistan win the 2009 ICC World Twenty20.
