Asia Cup: Pakistan A Defeat India A by 128 Runs to Win ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup

Asia Cup Colombo, July 23, 2023: Pakistan A defeated India A by 128 runs in the final of the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup to claim their second consecutive title.

Batting first, Pakistan A posted a mammoth 352 for 8, thanks to a brilliant hundred from Tayyab Tahir. Tahir scored 108 off 71 balls, with 12 fours and four sixes. He was well-supported by skipper Rohail Nazir, who scored 62 off 53 balls.

In reply, India A were never in the chase and were bowled out for 224 in 40 overs. Sai Sudharsan top-scored for India A with 64 off 56 balls, but no other batsman could make a significant contribution.

Tayyab Tahir was the pick of the bowlers for Pakistan A, taking 3 for 27. He was well-supported by Mohammad Wasim Jr, who took 2 for 29.

With this win, Pakistan A have now won the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup on two occasions. They first won the tournament in 2021, when they defeated Sri Lanka A in the final.

India A’s batting woes continue

India A’s batting woes continued in the final, as they were once again bowled out for a low score. This is the third time in this tournament that India A have been bowled out for under 250.

The team’s batting has been led by Sudharsan, who has scored two half-centuries in the tournament. However, no other batsman has been able to consistently contribute with the bat.

India A will need to address their batting woes if they want to be successful in the future. They have a number of talented batsmen in their squad, but they need to find a way to get them firing on all cylinders.

Pakistan A retain title
