U.S. Open 2023: Kyrgios withdraws due to Injury.

U.S. Open 2023: Nick Kyrgios has withdrawn from the US Open due to injury, the tournament announced on Thursday. The 28-year-old Australian has played just one ATP Tour match in 2023 due to a series of injuries.

Kyrgios missed the start of the season after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his left knee in January. He returned to action in June, but lost in the first round of the Stuttgart Open. He then withdrew from Wimbledon on the eve of the tournament due to a wrist injury.

The US Open is the fourth Grand Slam of the year and is scheduled to take place from August 28 to September 11 in New York City. Kyrgios had been seeded 28th for the tournament.

In a statement, Kyrgios said he was “devastated” to withdraw from the US Open. He said he had been working hard to get back to full fitness, but that his body was not ready for the demands of a Grand Slam.

“I’m really disappointed to have to withdraw from the US Open,” Kyrgios said. “I’ve been working hard to get back to full fitness, but my body just isn’t ready yet. I’m going to take some time off to rest and recover, and I’ll be back on the court soon.”

Kyrgios’ withdrawal is a blow to the US Open and to tennis fans around the world. The Australian is one of the most exciting players on tour when he is healthy and in form. He is known for his powerful serve and his aggressive style of play.

Kyrgios’ injury problems have been a source of frustration for him and his fans in recent years. He has been sidelined by injuries for long stretches of time, and he has never been able to consistently reach his full potential.

It remains to be seen when Kyrgios will be able to return to the tour. He said he would be taking some time off to rest and recover, but he did not give a specific timeline for his return.

The US Open will be held without Kyrgios, but there will still be plenty of star power on display. Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, and Serena Williams are all expected to compete in the tournament.
