James Ward-Prowse: West Ham United have signed England international James Ward-Prowse from Southampton on a four-year deal.
The 28-year-old midfielder has joined the Hammers for an undisclosed fee, but reports suggest it could be worth up to £30 million. Ward-Prowse is a versatile player who can play in central midfield, on the right wing, or as a deep-lying playmaker. He is known for his excellent passing, crossing, and set-piece delivery.
He has made over 400 appearances for Southampton in all competitions, scoring 43 goals and providing 53 assists. He has also won 11 caps for England. Ward-Prowse is West Ham’s second signing of the transfer window, following the arrival of Edson Alvarez from Ajax.
Manager David Moyes is looking to strengthen his squad ahead of the 2023-24 season, and Ward-Prowse is a major coup for the Hammers. He is a proven Premier League player who will add quality and depth to Moyes’ midfield.
Ward-Prowse is excited to join West Ham and is looking forward to helping the club challenge for European football.
