Crimson Desert: An All-in-one RPG Ensemble crammed into one enthralling ride. Trailer Out.

Crimson Desert is a single-player open-world action RPG that seems to take inspiration from a wide variety of other games. The game’s setting, a war-torn continent of Pywel, is reminiscent of The Elder Scrolls games.

The combat system, which focuses on fluid combos and acrobatics, is similar to that of Devil May Cry. And the character customization system, which allows players to create their own unique mercenary, is similar to that of Black Desert Online.

Of course, Crimson Desert is not just a hodgepodge of other games. It has its own unique identity, thanks to its focus on storytelling and character development.

The game’s story follows Macduff, a mercenary who assembles a band of comrades to survive an ensuing power struggle of numerous factions vying to take control of the continent.

Along the way, players will learn more about Macduff’s past and the events that led to the current conflict.

Crimson Desert is still in development, so it’s too early to say for sure how it will turn out.

However, the game has the potential to be a truly great RPG, thanks to its ambitious scope and unique blend of gameplay mechanics. I’m definitely looking forward to seeing more of it in the future.

Here are some of the specific elements of Crimson Desert that seem to be inspired by other games:

  • The setting: The war-torn continent of Pywel is reminiscent of the continent of Tamriel from The Elder Scrolls games. Both worlds are home to a variety of different races and cultures, and both are constantly embroiled in conflict.
  • The combat system: The combat system in Crimson Desert focuses on fluid combos and acrobatics. This is similar to the combat system in Devil May Cry, which is known for its fast-paced and stylish action.
  • The character customization system: The character customization system in Crimson Desert allows players to create their own unique mercenary. This is similar to the character customization system in Black Desert Online, which is one of the most in-depth character customization systems in any video game.
  • The storytelling: Crimson Desert is a single-player open-world RPG with a focus on storytelling. This is similar to games like The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Horizon Forbidden West.

Overall, Crimson Desert seems to be a very ambitious game that is trying to do a lot of things. It remains to be seen whether the game will be able to pull off all of these elements, but it has the potential to be a truly great RPG.
