Free League Publishing has released an exclusive preview of its upcoming Moria expansion for the Lord of the Rings RPG.
The expansion, which is due to launch on Kickstarter on August 29, will allow players to explore the dark and dangerous dwarven stronghold of Khazad-dûm.
The preview provides a glimpse of the many dangers that await players in Moria, including orcs, trolls, and other creatures of the deep. It also introduces a new set of rules for exploring the treacherous tunnels and chambers of the dwarven city.
The expansion is being designed by Francesco Nepitello, who is also the lead designer of The One Ring RPG. Nepitello said that he wanted to create an expansion that would capture the “creepiness and claustrophobia” of Moria.
“I wanted to make players feel like they were really exploring a dangerous and haunted place,” he said. “I think we’ve achieved that with this expansion.”
The Moria expansion is the third add-on for The One Ring RPG. The first two add-ons, Ruins of the Lost Realm and Tales From the Lone Lands, were both well-received by fans.
