Los Angeles, CA – Actress Megan Fox has been cast as the voice of Nitara in the upcoming video game Mortal Kombat 1. Nitara is a vampire from the realm of Edenia who is fighting to save her people from the Outworld Emperor Shao Kahn.
Fox is no stranger to the world of Mortal Kombat. She starred in the 2009 film Jennifer’s Body, which was inspired by the game. In the film, Fox played a cheerleader who is possessed by a demon and becomes a bloodthirsty killer.
“I’m so excited to be a part of the Mortal Kombat franchise,” said Fox. “Nitara is a such a cool character and I can’t wait to bring her to life. She’s a powerful and independent woman who is not afraid to fight for what she believes in.”
Mortal Kombat 1 is the latest installment in the popular fighting game series. The game is scheduled to be released on September 19 for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
In addition to Fox, the game’s voice cast also includes Joel McHale as Johnny Cage, Jennifer Carpenter as Sonya Blade, and Lewis Tan as Liu Kang.
Mortal Kombat 1 is being developed by NetherRealm Studios and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. The game is rated “M” for Mature by the ESRB.
