CD Projekt Red has revealed the cinematic trailer for Cyberpunk 2077’s upcoming expansion, Phantom Liberty, which is set to launch on September 26th, 2023.
The trailer stars Idris Elba as Solomon Reed, a spy who tasks V with a high-stakes mission of espionage and intrigue to save the NUSA President.
The trailer opens with a shot of V meeting with Reed in a dark, neon-lit alleyway. Reed warns V that the NUSA is on the brink of collapse, and that V is the only one who can save it. V is reluctant at first, but Reed convinces them that it is their duty to help.
The trailer then cuts to a montage of action-packed scenes, showing V infiltrating enemy strongholds, engaging in high-speed chases, and fighting off armed guards.
V also uses their cybernetic enhancements to perform superhuman feats, such as leaping across rooftops and wall-running.
The trailer culminates in a shot of V standing face-to-face with the NUSA President, who is being held captive by a group of terrorists. V must use all of their skills and abilities to defeat the terrorists and save the President’s life.
