Destiny 2: Bungie has announced that Destiny 2’s annual Halloween event, Festival of the Lost, will be returning on October 18, 2023, with a new mode and loot.
The new mode is called Haunted Sectors, and it is a three-player activity that takes place in a lost sector that has been overrun by headless ones. Players will need to clear the sector and defeat the boss to earn rewards.
The new loot includes:

- New Weapons and Armor: There are a number of new weapons and armor pieces that will be available during Festival of the Lost, including a new exotic sparrow, ship, and ghost.
- Returning Loot: Some of the most popular Festival of the Lost loot from previous years will be returning, including the BrayTech Werewolf assault rifle and the Horror Story auto rifle.
In addition to the new mode and loot, Bungie has also announced a number of other changes to Festival of the Lost, including:
- Legend Haunted Sectors: A new, more challenging difficulty tier for Haunted Sectors.
- Hocus Focusing: A new way to focus Eerie Engrams at Eva Levante.
- Candy: Candy can now be earned from more activities, including strikes, crucible matches, and gambit matches.
Festival of the Lost will run from October 18, 2023, to November 8, 2023.
