Halo Infinite: A Return to Master Chief’s Iconic Combat Evolved Armor

Halo: Nostalgia runs deep among Halo fans, and the iconic Mjolnir Mark V armor worn by Master Chief in Halo: Combat Evolved holds a special place in their hearts. The rugged, utilitarian design of the Mark V perfectly encapsulated the gritty, militaristic tone of the original Halo game, and it has remained a fan favorite ever since.

In a move that is sure to delight long-time fans of the franchise, 343 Industries has announced that Master Chief’s Combat Evolved armor will be making its way to Halo Infinite as an armor kit in Season 5.

This means that players will be able to equip their Spartans with the same armor that Master Chief wore during his first encounter with the Covenant on Installation 04.

The Mark V armor kit will be available for purchase in the Halo Infinite store starting on November 7, 2022. It will come with the classic olive green color scheme, as well as two additional armor coatings: Viridescent Ring and Cinder Ring. The kit will also include the Aurum Evolved visor, completing the classic look.

In addition to the Mark V armor kit, players will also be able to earn the Mark VI armor kit from Halo Infinite’s campaign by reaching the rank of Hero in ranked multiplayer.

This kit will feature the same design as the armor worn by Master Chief in Halo Infinite, but without the “117” Spartan number engraving.

The addition of these classic armor kits is a welcome nod to Halo’s rich history and a testament to 343 Industries’ commitment to fan service.

Players who have been longing to relive the glory days of Halo: Combat Evolved will undoubtedly be thrilled to don the Mark V armor once again and step back into the boots of the legendary Spartan-II.
