IND vs BAN: India Women defeated Bangladesh Women by 8 runs in the second T20I of the three-match series in Dhaka on Tuesday. India scored 95/8 in their 20 overs, with Shafali Verma top-scoring with 19 off 16 balls. Salma Khatun was the pick of the bowlers for Bangladesh, taking 3/21.
In reply, Bangladesh was bowled out for 87 in the last ball of the innings. Pooja Vastrakar was the star with the ball for India, taking 4/13.
The win gives India an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series.

- India got off to a good start, with Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana putting on 29 for the first wicket.
- However, the wheels came off after the Powerplay, as India lost three wickets in quick succession.
- Jemimah Rodrigues and Harleen Deol tried to rebuild the innings, but they were both dismissed for 12.
- India were eventually bowled out for 95, with Salma Khatun taking 3/21.
Bangladesh started their reply well, with Shamima Sultana and Fargana Hoque putting on 32 for the first wicket. However, Pooja Vastrakar struck twice in the 6th over to break the partnership and send Bangladesh on a downward spiral.

The wickets kept falling for Bangladesh and they were eventually bowled out for 87 in the last ball. Pooja Vastrakar was the star with the ball for India, taking 4/13.
The win was India’s fifth in a row in T20Is, and their third against Bangladesh in this format.
India’s captain, Harmanpreet Kaur, was pleased with the team’s performance.
“We were looking to score around 100, but we were a bit slow in the middle,” she said. “But overall, it was a good performance.”
Bangladesh’s captain, Nigar Sultana, said that her team was disappointed with the result.
“We didn’t play our best cricket today,” she said. “We need to improve our batting if we want to compete with India.”
Before this, the first match was played on July 9, 2023, at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur, Bangladesh. India won the match by 7 wickets. India has a dominant head-to-head record against Bangladesh in T20I cricket, winning 11 of the 13 matches so far. India is also the current world number one in T20I cricket, while Bangladesh is ranked 10th.
