Lucas Glover won his first PGA Tour title in over six years on Sunday, shooting a final-round 66 to win the 2023 Wyndham Championship by two strokes.
Glover, who started the day tied for the lead with Billy Horschel, birdied four of his first five holes to take control of the tournament. He never looked back, carding four more birdies on the back nine to finish at 21-under-par 263.
Horschel finished second at 19 under, while Russell Henley and Byeong Hun An tied for third at 18 under.
Glover’s victory is his third on the PGA Tour, and his first since the 2016 St. Jude Classic. It also comes at a crucial time for the 39-year-old, who is currently 105th in the FedEx Cup standings.
The win will move Glover up to at least 70th in the standings, which would secure him a spot in the playoffs. “It’s been a long time,” Glover said after the round. “I’ve been working hard, and I’m just really happy to get it done.”
Glover’s victory was also a bit of redemption for the former US Open champion. He had missed the cut in his previous two starts and was struggling with his game. But on Sunday, Glover put it all together, playing some of the best golf of his career. He hit 17 of 18 greens in regulation and made just one bogey.

“I just tried the long putter first,” he said. “I got to a point with putting, I needed a whole new — basically a whole new brain function, a whole new method.“
“I had two weeks off before Memorial and just ordered and taught myself how to use it and been kind of sticking to that.” He added, “It’s been fun to teach myself something in the game I’ve been doing for literally 40 years.”
The win is a big boost for Glover, who is looking to get back to the top of the golf world. He has the talent to be a major champion, and this victory is a sign that he is still capable of playing at a high level.
With the playoffs just around the corner, Glover will be looking to build on this momentum. He has a chance to make a deep run in the playoffs, and even contend for a major championship.
But for now, Glover is just enjoying the moment. He has finally won again, and he is back in the mix on the PGA Tour.
