US Open 2023: The United States Tennis Association (USTA) announced on Wednesday that the 2023 US Open will offer a record $65 million in prize money and player compensation. This represents a 10% increase from the previous record of $59.1 million set in 2022.
The singles champions in both the men’s and women’s draw will each receive $2.8 million, an increase of $200,000 from last year. The runners-up will each receive $1.4 million, up $100,000.
The qualifying competition will also see a significant increase in prize money, with the winner receiving $100,000, up from $75,000 in 2022. The USTA said that the increase in prize money is a reflection of its commitment to supporting the players and growing the sport of tennis.
“We are proud to offer the highest prize money in tennis at the US Open,” said USTA Chairman and CEO Mike McNulty. “This investment in our players is a reflection of our commitment to supporting them and growing the sport.”
The 2023 US Open will be held from August 29 to September 11 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, New York.

In addition to the record prize money, the 2023 US Open will also mark the 50th anniversary of equal prize money for men and women. The USTA was the first Grand Slam tournament to offer equal prize money to men and women in 1973.
The 2023 US Open is expected to be one of the most competitive in recent years. The men’s draw features a number of top contenders, including Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, and Carlos Alcaraz.
