Hitman: The developers of the Hitman video game series have been unable to fix a glitch that causes NPCs to instantly die when they touch a certain wall in the game’s Morgue level. The glitch, which has been dubbed the “Death Wall,” has been present in the game since its release in 2016.
IO Interactive, the developer of Hitman, has attempted to fix the Death Wall on several occasions. In a patch released in 2017, the developers added extra collision along the wall in an attempt to prevent NPCs from getting too close. However, this fix did not work, as NPCs were still able to step outside of bounds (the area that they are allowed to be) and die.
In a more recent patch, IO Interactive tried a different approach. Instead of adding more collision, they simply added a bunch of boxes and other objects next to the wall to keep NPCs away. This fix seems to have worked for the most part, but it is not a complete solution. NPCs can still sometimes get close enough to the wall to die, and the Death Wall is still there, waiting to claim more lives.
IO Interactive has acknowledged that they are unable to completely fix the Death Wall. In a post on the game’s official forums, the developers wrote: “We’ve tried a few different things to fix this issue, but unfortunately it’s proving to be a bit tricky. We’ll keep working on it, but for now the best way to avoid the Death Wall is to just stay away from it.”

The Death Wall is a minor glitch, but it has become something of a meme among Hitman fans. Some players have even started intentionally trying to get NPCs killed by the Death Wall. While it is not a game-breaking glitch, it is a reminder that even the best-designed games can have their share of bugs.
In the meantime, players who want to avoid the Death Wall should simply stay away from it. If you do happen to get close to it, be careful not to touch it, or you might just meet your end.
Here are some of the workarounds that players have found for the Death Wall:
- Using mods: There are several mods available that can disable the Death Wall. However, mods can be unreliable and can sometimes cause other problems with the game.
- Using glitches: There are a few glitches that can be used to bypass the Death Wall. However, these glitches are often difficult to perform and can be risky.
- Just accepting it: Some players have simply accepted the Death Wall as a part of the game. They try to avoid areas where the Death Wall is present, or they find ways to work around it.
The Death Wall is a frustrating issue, but it is one that the developers of Hitman are working to fix. Hopefully, a permanent solution will be found soon.
